September 22, 2005: Serious Sam II demo

As promised, 2K Games now sends along the playable demo for Serious Sam II, allowing the chance to pull out all the stops in this frantic first-person shooter sequel that is nearing completion at Croteam. Word is: "This demo contains the complete Seriousopolis Uptown level from the game, which can be played solo, or over LAN or online by up to four people. It also contains all the weapons from the game (although you may have to cheat to see all of them), one of the game's vehicles and a nice variety of the insane enemies that Sam is well known for."

Review: Burnout: Dominator racing (PS2) FunnyGames, April 10, 2007
...This racing game has not changed substantially - you still pilot a car at breakneck speeds through the crowded streets of unnamed cities. You get points for driving recklessly. Weaving through oncoming traffic and drifting around corners builds up boost, which then can be triggered for a scary speed burst...

...Instead of racing, most of the events take the form of challenges: drift for over 9,000 yards, complete a lap in under a minute, take out fifteen cars. These are neat mini games, but here they have almost completely replaced the basic racing game which is rubber-banded to death anyway...

Dead Rising Review FunnyGames, August 14, 2006
We finally got one. Finally. Yes, there is now a zombie video game in the stores that lives up to the classic zombie horror flicks. Romero was not a part of this project, nor does this title have anything official to do with his seminal zombie movie Dawn of the Dead. Why even bother? Well, there are some very conspicuous similarities here: zombies in a mall, people getting eaten, that sort of thing. But if this game needs a disclaimer, then don't World of Warcraft developers Blizzard Entertainment need one disclaiming any perceived similarity to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings? Or what about the hundreds of books, shows, movies, and games that borrow from popular culture? ...
