Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run (Midway)

We're really going to try our best not to blame The Rock for the human travesty that was DOOM: The Movie. I mean, they didn't let him be the super cool, one-liner spitting badass we know and love, instead relegating him to a ridiculously cliched soldier who goes too far. But despite that misstep, we still love the big lug, and have hope that he may be able to bring a little respect to videogame movies when Spy Hunter comes out in 2007.

Beating the flick to the punch, however, Midway is hard at work on Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run, a PS2 and Xbox title set to hit stores this summer. Thankfully, even though the game will beat out the movie by a year, it'll still feature the voice, likeness and undeniable presence ...

What we heard: One phrase Xbox-owning racing fans are no strangers to is "Forza Motorsport is delayed." The game was first shown off at E3 2004 and was expected to ship that holiday season. Then it was delayed...and delayed again...and delayed again...

So it likely comes as little surprise that the game's successor is in the rumor mill as also being a victim of delays. Forza Motorsport 2 for the Xbox 360 was scheduled to be released this November, in time for both the holiday rush and the release of the Xbox 360 wireless steering wheel. Overall, we had a lot of fun with FaceBreaker. The controls are simple and easy to pick up, with each character's personality adding extra appeal to the simplified style of boxing presented in the game. But while it may be simple, we picked up on certain areas where strategy is a must. The most notable area is with FaceBreakers. When you use the first or second tier, you'll drop your FaceBreaker meter back to zero. What that does is knock away a substantial portion of your opponent's health, but you'll, then, need to build it back up all over again for the next special move. This adds a fun risk-reward element to the fighting. You're constantly at odds with your instinct to pummel your opponent as savagely as you can right at that moment, but in the back of your head, you know you can guarantee yourself a victory if you patiently build that FaceBreaker gauge all the way up to the top.
