Serious Sam II demo
As promised, 2K Games now sends along the playable demo for
Serious Sam II, allowing the chance to pull out all the stops in this frantic
first-person shooter sequel that is nearing completion at Croteam. Word is: "This demo contains the complete Seriousopolis Uptown level from the game, which can be played solo, or over LAN or online by up to four people. It also contains all the weapons from the game (although you may have to cheat to see all of them), one of the game's vehicles and a nice variety of the insane enemies that Sam is well known for."

Armored Core 4 Review (Xbox 360) FunnyGames, April 23, 2007Giant robots are almost always fun. Sometimes, you get to go into great detail when you build them in a video game, much like the MechWarrior series on the PC. Take every part, fit it into certain slots and make sure you have the right type of armor, not to mention enough heatsinks to keep from overheating when you fire off those 12 lasers at once. Then you have the much more simplistic ones where you don't really upgrade your robot but instead run around and shoot stuff in a more action-styled game you can find this mostly at play in MechAssault...
...The game graphics are, for the most part, pretty darn nice. Mechs have some insane detail on them try changing to a slight weapon variation and you will notice it almost immediately...

The Impact of Episodic Gaming FunnyGames, April 19, 2006GameDailyBiz has a piece up looking at what episodic content is, and what it means to the future of the games industry. From the article: "
Our age is one of aging. Mainstream gamers are now older on average than they have ever been. When you are single and unemployed, it is easy to play The Godfather for nine straight hours the day the game hits the shelf. When you are married, it becomes tougher. When you have kids, it might be impossible. It is difficult to slice some time for yourself. And in that slice, you have to carve a portion for gaming. It is no wonder casual games that require no more than 10 minutes to play continue to grow in popularity. This is why we are more likely to login to Call of Duty 2 on Xbox Live to play a quick five-minute Team Deathmatch and leave the Lobby."
