Funny News: Transformers: The Game Reviewed
July 24, 2007: Transformers: The Game Reviewed...The game does follow the movie's plot loosely, but you'll find that the missions you need to do are generally less exciting than in the movie due to the rather dull action sequences. From playing as the Autobot Bumblebee whose mission is to protect Mikaela and Sam (and his great-grandfather's glasses that have the encoded location of the "Allspark" on them) to just plain destroying half of a city as a Decepticon, the events in the game do follow the movie but are decidedly more disjointed and often have you doing things repeatedly just so that the overall length of the game is increased...
...Transformers does have a few redeeming moments, like when you get to play as Scorponok, but there are just way too many long stretches of mediocrity for me to be able to recommend this one. The PS3 version looks great in screenshots, but it plays like a budget game and yet still sports the full $59.99 price tag....

With four cards in each player's hand, the sheer number of two-card combinations available tell us that the nuts are probably out there. Hand values increase dramatically in Omaha poker. While the median winning hand in hold'em is two pair, that hand is more often than not worthless in Omaha. If you're drawing to a flush, make it the nut flush. If you're drawing to a straight, make it the nut straight and if you're drawing to a low, you really need to make sure it's the nut low. Drawing to ten-high flushes, second nut lows and the bad ends of straights are huge money poker losers.

...While most fighters are primarily multiplayer centric, Tekken Dark Resurrection for the PSP offers up a healthy single player game component that should keep you playing when there are no friends online to be found. Story mode remains, as you're able to play as every character in a series of nine Tekken battles to learn everyone's backstory. Even cooler, each of these ends with a high quality FMV to close out the game story. Some of these are pretty standard, cool poses, lots of explosions and so forth. The best, though are the ones that don't take themselves too seriously. Seeing Panda in this game as the leader of a multinational corporation getting proposed to by Kuma the bear may be worth the price of admission on its own...
