Funny News: Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
February 10, 2006:
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars
UK developer Splash Damage is a pioneer in multiplayer gaming, even if most of the thousands of online FPS players have never heard of them. These are the guys that developed the multiplayer portion of
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, the Activision title that was released for free a few years ago. Activision pulled a wonderful PR move in releasing this as a stand-alone game, and it's been a favorite of many FPS gamers since.
Now, Splash Damage is getting their chance to make their own multiplayer game that's not just intended to be tacked onto something else. Enemy Territory:
Quake Wars combines Splash Damage's unique brand of FPS action with the sci-fi world of
Quake to make something that's truly unique. The team at Splash Damage is still largely a bunch of modmakers without true retail game experience.

Auto Assault Review FunnyGames, June 6, 2006Auto Assault is a post-apocalyptic combat driving MMORPG that was released by NetDevil and NCSoft. The game aims to provide players with a unique combat system that promises high speed destruction in a massively multiplayer environment. Players choose from three races: Biomeks, Humans, and Mutants where they harness their skills while preparing to duke it out in the middle of the world at higher levels.
Most Anticipated of 2005, Best Online Multiplayer Game, Editors Choice, Best Gameplay. These are just a few of the lines that were all over the front pages of PC gaming magazines and websites after the E3 show of 2005. Everybody seemed to be excited about a game that promised to bring some new, fast-paced, combat driving to the market in the form of a massively multiplayer role-playing game.
Unreal Tournament 3 Review FunnyGames, November 29, 2007Unreal Tournament 3 uses Unreal Engine 3, the same basic set of tools that powered Gears of War. As such, this is a really great-looking game on high-end machines. But even if your PC isn't top of the line, the game scales better than most, giving you a playable experience on midrange machines as well. But, of course, the game is at its best when you're exceeding the game's minimum requirements, in situations where you can run at a high resolution and still get a great frame rate. It supports widescreen resolutions, but playing in widescreen actually gives you a smaller view of the overall action, given that the game appears to cut off the top and bottom of the 4:3 view to fit it onto a wider monitor. UT3 certainly isn't the first PC game to have this problem, but given its highly competitive nature, cutting off parts of the screen seems to be a pretty bad solution...
