Funny News: Serious Sam II demo
September 22, 2005: Serious Sam II demoAs promised, 2K Games now sends along the playable demo for Serious Sam II, allowing the chance to pull out all the stops in this frantic first-person shooter sequel that is nearing completion at Croteam. Word is: "This demo contains the complete Seriousopolis Uptown level from the game, which can be played solo, or over LAN or online by up to four people. It also contains all the weapons from the game (although you may have to cheat to see all of them), one of the game's vehicles and a nice variety of the insane enemies that Sam is well known for."

Poker king Hachem wins in Vegas FunnyGames, December 20, 2006Aaustralian poker king Joe Hachem has pocketed nearly $3 million after winning the world's second biggest poker tournament. His victory at the Bellagio Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, earned him US$2.2 million ($2.8 million), reports The Australian newspaper.
He's very emotional, very humble and over the moon, brother Tony Hachem said.
The 39-year-old from Melbourne shocked the poker world last year by winning the main event of the World Series of Poker, pocketing $10 million.
He's a true-blue Aussie and everyone wants to take him on, his brother said.
But he's beaten the best players in America, some of whom have playing the game for 40 years.
He will play in the $US10 million Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure in the Bahamas next week before returning for the Australian World Series at Melbourne's Crown casino.

...The new tweaks in the game go from bland to broken to pretty awesome. Pitchers get a new feature with a fancy name adaptive pitching intelligence. What is this space-age George Jetson gadgetry? Suggested pitches. While standing on the mound, the game suggests a pitch to you it's not cumbersome or annoying, but it is not really as interesting as its name.
Also more sparkle than substance is the online game. Sony has considerably beefed up its online offerings, building in league play that can simulate a season with up to thirty online players, and updating rosters through the season. But the actual games themselves are spotty and laggy and that is the death knoll for a game that relies so heavily upon timing...
