Funny News: Review: Star Fox Command
September 5, 2006: Review: Star Fox CommandAs one of Nintendo's long-running franchises, Star Fox has quite a strong following behind it. Unfortunately, recent Star Fox games have been a little hit or miss. Star Fox Assault, for example, was probably the lowest point for the series, offering up generic, and often boring, gameplay. Now it's up to this new entry for the DS to bring the Great Fox out of the ashes. Star Fox Command is the first handheld title for the franchise, and while it offers up unique gameplay and interesting new concepts, it fails to achieve the brilliance that we saw on the Super Nintendo and N64.
...If you're looking for a tactical strategy game with action elements, Star Fox Command is pretty much the only game in town on the DS. While it doesn't return the franchise to former glories, it's definitely a step in the right direction, offering up a new style of play that utilizes the system well.

Tower Defence FunnyGames, March 26, 2008Tower Defence is based on the populat Warcraft 3 (Element Tower Defence) and the Starcraft (Turret Defence) gameplay.
The object of the Tower Defence game is to prevent the hordes (called waves) of monsters from getting to the castle by building element towers near the path.
Your menu is located at the bottom of your gamescreen. You can choose from a number of different elements to build towers from. When you click on a tower that has been built, the build menu becomes an upgrade menu, allowing you to make your defence towers even stronger.
The monsters will appear (spawn) every 20 seconds or you could press the spacebar to speed up the spawn. The health of the monsters will be miltiplied by 1.25 in every new wave. If your defence towers fail to kill the monsters and they get into the castle, a cavillian of your castle will die. The game is over When all your civillians die.
Every tower defence game experience is different every time you play depending on element, positions and upgrades your choose for you defence towers.

In this version there is a "tower range" variable, the flower tower is a bit slower to attack and all known bugs are solved.

Wolfenstein is being created for simultaneous release on the PC, PS3, and 360 - previously, id as well as other PC-centric developers have moved away from their home platform and towards consoles, citing piracy as well as difficulty with sales overall as the reason. Some thought that meant that id was abandoning the PC altogether or intended on tossing together a sloppy console-like port as an afterthought, but if Wolfenstein is the standard that they're setting for themselves, I don't think we have much to worry about. id's own Kevin Cloud said that his home platform is still the PC and his playtesting sessions with this game take place on PC. For the demo I saw it on the 360, but Raven's Eric Biessman said that they could have brought the PC version too except that they didn't feel like bringing a gaming-based desktop PC with them on the plane, and that the 360 is more portable in that regard.
pressed on, though, and asked about the game engine - it's based originally on the Quake 4 engine but in the four years since that was released, Raven's changed the engine enough for Wolfenstein that it's pretty much separate technology by now. I also expressed doubts about what kind of a PC release we'd get when consoles have to be...>>
