Funny News: Xbox 360 lands across the pond

September 18, 2005: Xbox 360 lands across the pond

Long lines, low supplies, outrageous eBay prices... Microsoft's European launch mirrors North American release.

Microsoft's Xbox 360 launched across Europe today, and early reports are echoing those of the system's American launch last week. According to an article in The Times Online, limited supplies of the system sold out within minutes of the 12 a.m. launch.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz Wii version FunnyGames, July 8, 2006
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz > Sega's monkeys roll their way onto the Wii!
Sega rolled out a Wii version of Super Monkey Ball recently, and we had a chance to check out all of the monkey madness using the system's motion-sensing remote and nunchaku. There's not much that looks different in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, but its feel adds a new layer of fun when controlling AiAi and friends.

In the single-player puzzle demo, tilting the remote sent AiAi rolling in the corresponding direction. Slightly pointing the remote down rolled him forward, leaning it to the right or left initiated a turn, and adjusting it to the ceiling slowed him down and eventually sent him backwards. Anything but the slightest of hand movements would send AiAi off of the ...

Summer Athletics Review FunnyGames, September 12, 2008
Summer Athletics isn't as beautiful or expansive as 'Beijing 2008', the official game of this summer's Olympics, but the cool thing about playing a track and field game on the Wii instead of on another platform is that you actually need to move to do it...

..Overall, Summer Athletics isn't a horrible game but it suffers the lack of creativity its ho-hum name implies. While the Wii controls make it relatively entertaining, it makes us beg for more: more events, more stats and customization and more sound, not to mention better graphics and animation. Fingers crossed that Data Design Interactive uses the next four years to improve on it rather than making a sequel to Ninja Bread Man.

The Bad: Limited selection of events; mediocre sound, animation and graphics

The Good: Interesting control schemes; 4-player split-screen/sequential multi-player; getting to smack your brother in the face while doing the backstroke
