Super Mario Party 8 Review
...Mario Party 8, despite being on the Wii, is almost identical in terms of presentation and scope of the previous installments. It's still a hyper cute, turn-based board game where Mario characters attempt to collect stars, beating out other denizens of the mushroom kingdom. The highlight of these matches comes from the minigames, which have always been the main draw of the Mario Party series. And they're back in full force, with tons of varieties, ranging from 1-on-3, 2-on-2 or free for all battles...
...In the end, Mario Party 8 is a fine choice if you loved the first 7 entries and are dying for more. If you're looking for a change, though, 8 barely offers it in the form of basic motion controls. Other than that, this is kiddie fodder, through and through.

Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest FunnyGames, July 18, 2006... The story in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is fairly faithful to its cinematic counterpart, focusing almost exclusively on the bits featuring Captain Jack Sparrow, since that's the character you'll be playing as over the course of the game. The game starts with a little explanation for what Jack was doing in that coffin at the start of the film, and on the whole the story is mostly faithful, though it tweaks a few minor exchanges for the sake of streamlining the game's storytelling and ...
Good: Rousing Hans Zimmer score; multiplayer naval battles surprisingly fun gaming.
Bad: Swordplay is shallow and repetitive; game controls are too imprecise for platforming sections; endgame structure can make for tedious backtracking.

Streets of Rage 2 Review FunnyGames, September 4, 2007While the original Streets of Rage always stood in the shadow of Capcom's genre-defining Final Fight, Sega's homegrown beat-'em-up series really came into its own with Streets of Rage 2. Released two years after the original, Streets of Rage 2 offered markedly refined gameplay and improved presentation, both technically and stylistically. The game was released on the Wii Virtual Console earlier this year, and now it's on Xbox Live Arcade with a few new bells and whistles...
...While there were minor differences between the three playable characters in the original Streets of Rage, they're much more pronounced here. Most significant is that each character has a special attack that effectively replaces the ability to call in an artillery strike from the first game, though even basics like run speed, attack strength, and how grapple moves are executed look and feel unique to each of the four characters...
