February 29, 2008: The Club Game ReviewBizarre Creations' The Club is a bewildering beast of a video game. The core gameplay conceit of tightly focused speed and combo runs through a mixture of gun-toting enemy-filled maps works extremely well in practice. Problem is, nearly everything surrounding what works is astoundingly unimpressive, from the "set up and discard" approach to an otherwise compelling backstory to the game's criminally tacked-on multiplayer. The Club certainly isn't a total waste, but the underlying quality of the gameplay makes the pain of its lesser bits and pieces feel all the more acute...
...If you're a fan of arcade games and constantly reaching for higher and higher point totals, don't worry about The Club's lesser elements. The core gameplay is tremendously entertaining, a great thing when you consider that repeat playthroughs are a must if the highest point barriers are to be broken. The multiplayer may be a bust and the story non-existent, but The Club is a worthwhile purchase for those seeking a challenging solo experience and/or a moderately-paced party game...

Black and White 2 Review FunnyGames, October 25, 2005Peter Molyneux's Black and White was universally hailed as an innovative switch-up in gaming prior to its launch, and frustrated critics referred to it as a toy once they'd had a chance to see the depth of the title's gameplay. The design of the sequel, Black and White 2, seems to be a deliberate response to the denouncements leveled at the original game. The result is a more traditional, less open-ended RTS with some identity issues. Despite that, being a god still has as much appeal as it did back in the days of Populous. Nintendo releases TurboGrafx Games FunnyGames, July 9, 2007
Nintendo Australia announced its latest round of game title updates for the Wii's Virtual Console. As well as three Sega Mega Drive games, 11 TurboGrafx-16 titles are now being made available for purchase through the Wii download service (Australia only), the first time the old console's games have been available down under.
The announcement makes it a 14-title refresh for Australians last week, bringing the total number of games available on the Virtual Console to 93. Mega Drive games will set you back 800 Wii points each, while TurboGrafx-16 games will cost slightly less at 600 points per game.
The list of available TurboGrafx games is:
Bonk's Adventure, Bomberman '93, Super Star Soldier, Victory Run, Alien Crush, Military Madness, R-TYPE, Dungeon Explorer, Soldier Blade, Motoroader and Vigilante.
