When they first appeared on the scene, real-time strategy games started off with the basics of harvesting resources, building your base, and eventually churning out an army of toy soldiers to beat up your opponents before they did the same to you. Times have changed. These games have become faster-paced and more streamlined, with better control layouts, prettier graphics, and in the case of EALA's upcoming sequel, they have scout dogs and parachuting bears. Yes, Red Alert 3 may look like Command & Conquer 3's wackier cousin, but as we saw from our exclusive hands-on time with the game, there's also a finely-tuned and deep strategy game within. Ridge Racer 7 racing game introduces some great new additions that make this the most significant update Namco's arcade-style racing game series has seen in years.

Bad: Most of the game's tracks appeared in Ridge Racer 6; gameplay won't be intuitive to those unfamiliar with the series.

Good: Great frame rate leads to a fast sense of speed; team-based online racing modes are neat and innovative; car customization and slipstreaming add new depth to the series.

Rumor: Forza 2 again delayed? FunnyGames, September 11, 2006
What we heard: One phrase Xbox-owning racing fans are no strangers to is "Forza Motorsport is delayed." The game was first shown off at E3 2004 and was expected to ship that holiday season. Then it was delayed...and delayed again...and delayed again...

So it likely comes as little surprise that the game's successor is in the rumor mill as also being a victim of delays. Forza Motorsport 2 for the Xbox 360 was scheduled to be released this November, in time for both the holiday rush and the release of the Xbox 360 wireless steering wheel. Now, according to a post over on the forums at Gaming Age, it appears Forza 2 won't hit the streets until 2007...
