For older gamers with fond memories of the gems that graced our consoles (and computers) in the 80s and 90s, Xbox Live has been a dream come true. Retro titles that may otherwise been impossible to find, have slowly been popping up on Microsofts service boasting interesting new features and enhanced graphics. Last weeks release of the Bitmap Brothers classic take on the future of sports, Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe is no exception. In addition to sporting more teams in league play, some light RPG elements, and new enhanced graphics, also on the table is multiplayer support over Xbox Live. For fans of retro gaming it rarely gets better than this.
Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe is one of those fun pick up and play games that doesn't require memorization of a lot of controls or is bound by overly complex rules. As one of two teams your goal, quite simply, is to throw a ball into the goal to score. Points are also garnered by injuring players, hitting targets around the arena, and collecting powerups that can give a much needed boost during some later frantic league matches.

PSP gets greatest game hits FunnyGames, July 26, 2006Sony's Greatest Hits program, where top-selling older game titles are rereleased with new packaging and a budget price tag, was officially introduced to the PlayStation Portable today. Effective immediately, five of Sony's first-party PSP games (Wipeout Pure, Twisted Metal: Head On, Ape Escape: On the Loose, ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails, and Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee) are available for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
While the first wave of game hits is limited to first-party games from around the time of the system's March 2005 launch, Sony has said that third-party games will achieve Greatest Hits status later this year. Specifically, Lumines, Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade, Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, and Star Wars Battlefront II are all due to go easier on gamers' wallets...

Beautiful Katamari Reviewed FunnyGames, October 29, 2007Who the heck would have thought a game where you just roll a ball around picking up stuff would be such a gigantic success? Well, the Katamari Damacy series has become a favorite. It is a fun and easy to pick up game, is colorful, has awesome music and, best of all, comes at a budget price.
Really, Beautiful Katamari plays a lot like the other games in the series. Though, to be honest, I found some things harder to control with the 360 thumbsticks being at different horizontal planes on the controller. Being offset like that made it harder (at least for me) to do things like the dash and quick turns. Even if you're very used to the PS2 version, though, it won't be too hideously hard to shift over to the 360 controller for this one...
