Cheese wearing two-tone corduroy bell-bottoms and listening to My Sharona's. Yep, it's hard to believe, but this year marks the 30th anniversary of this beloved arcade classic and Taito is celebrating by re-releasing it on the DS...
The Good: A classic title with solid gameplay amped up to 21st century standards.
The Bad: A "kitchen sink" approach to graphics that clutters the screen and is possibly seizure-inducing; punishing gamers for failing with needless repetition...

Review: Doom Xbox live Arcade FunnyGames, October 1, 2006In a bit of a shocking announcement, Microsoft announced just this week that Doom would be hitting Xbox Live Arcade, well, instantly. In the same way that Steve Jobs announces a new iPod and they're in stores right away, Doom was ready and waiting for folks to download it on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
The classic PC game is the first FPS to hit Live Marketplace, and it's definitely one of the more polished titles on the service, offering up all the old school gory gameplay you remember, along with some nifty new extras...

Doom allows for people to hop on Live and play online co-op (through all the single-player levels) or deathmatch (through all the classic DM maps). DS Review: The World Ends With You FunnyGames, June 11, 2008
Despite a few clichés and silly kangaroo monsters, the artful character dramas burn slowly over the eight-hour playtime, until you hungrily wish to see them go further at the game's conclusion. In the meanwhile, there's still plenty of game to play and story to see after the credits roll... but enough about that. Parents be warned, Neku and company get a Teen rating for a bit of foul language.
With the frantic dual-screen battles in a dense little city, The World Ends With You is a surprisingly hardcore, impossibly ambitious DS title. This pint-size powerhouse might sadly intimidate a few DS owners and their Pokeymans. Don't get scared off; put down your Zeldas and your juice boxes for two minutes and try taking on The World.
