Funny News: Rumor: 2 Gran Turismo race games for PS3?
October 1, 2006: Rumor: 2 Gran Turismo race games for PS3?... Rumor: The interview allegedly says that the Gran Turismo debut on the PlayStation 3 will come in two forms, one called Gran Turismo HD: Premium and one called Gran Turismo HD: Classic.
Premium will feature "the full graphics power of the PS3" and include 30 cars and two courses, with the option to buy more of each later. There will allegedly be one mode--a casual racing mode--that doesn't include the typical GT gameplay of winning races and acquiring cars and medals.
Classic will (racing fans brace yourself) come with no cars or courses and is basically the demo that was playable at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. According to the translation, 750 cars will be downloadable for...

...The game will be a kind of hide-and-seek for up to 16 players at a time, and is called a "strategic multiplayer experience." It will feature the SOP system which allows players to keep track of their teammates via nanomachines injected into their bloodstream. The nanomachines allow them to see where the rest of their team are, their condition, which way they are aiming, and their range of sight. Enemy soldiers can also be injected with nanomachines, which will enable the other team to then keep track of their movements...

As one of Nintendo's long-running franchises, Star Fox has quite a strong following behind it. Unfortunately, recent Star Fox games have been a little hit or miss. Star Fox Assault, for example, was probably the lowest point for the series, offering up generic, and often boring, gameplay. Now it's up to this new entry for the DS to bring the Great Fox out of the ashes. Star Fox Command is the first handheld title for the franchise, and while it offers up unique gameplay and interesting new concepts, it fails to achieve the brilliance that we saw on the Super Nintendo and N64.
...If you're looking for a tactical strategy game with action elements, Star Fox Command is pretty much the only game in town on the DS. While it doesn't return the franchise to former glories, it's definitely a step in the right direction, offering up a new style of play that utilizes the system well.
