June 6, 2006: Half-Life 2: Episode 1 ReviewIf Duke Nukem Forever can teach us anything, it's that long development times are not always good for a game. The same can be said for the much-vaunted Valve and its ongoing vaporware, Team Fortress 2. It was with this in mind that Valve decided to go in a different direction than anyone else in the industry. Rather than spending three or four years working on 20-hour long epics, they would instead focus on episodic content. The games are shorter, to be sure, but the smaller scope and speedier development times allow them to put out quality titles once every six months, rather than once every few years.

The Club Game Review FunnyGames, February 29, 2008Bizarre Creations' The Club is a bewildering beast of a video game. The core gameplay conceit of tightly focused speed and combo runs through a mixture of gun-toting enemy-filled maps works extremely well in practice. Problem is, nearly everything surrounding what works is astoundingly unimpressive, from the "set up and discard" approach to an otherwise compelling backstory to the game's criminally tacked-on multiplayer. The Club certainly isn't a total waste, but the underlying quality of the gameplay makes the pain of its lesser bits and pieces feel all the more acute...
...If you're a fan of arcade games and constantly reaching for higher and higher point totals, don't worry about The Club's lesser elements. The core gameplay is tremendously entertaining, a great thing when you consider that repeat playthroughs are a must if the highest point barriers are to be broken. The multiplayer may be a bust and the story non-existent, but The Club is a worthwhile purchase for those seeking a challenging solo experience and/or a moderately-paced party game...

Auto Assault is a post-apocalyptic combat driving MMORPG that was released by NetDevil and NCSoft. The game aims to provide players with a unique combat system that promises high speed destruction in a massively multiplayer environment. Players choose from three races: Biomeks, Humans, and Mutants where they harness their skills while preparing to duke it out in the middle of the world at higher levels.
Most Anticipated of 2005, Best Online Multiplayer Game, Editors Choice, Best Gameplay. These are just a few of the lines that were all over the front pages of PC gaming magazines and websites after the E3 show of 2005. Everybody seemed to be excited about a game that promised to bring some new, fast-paced, combat driving to the market in the form of a massively multiplayer role-playing game.
