Funny News: LocoRoco Review (PSP)
October 1, 2006: LocoRoco Review (PSP)Let's face it! The PSP has had a major shortage of memorable games. Some because of huge load times, others because it is just something we have played elsewhere and some are just plain bad. There have been a few gems, however Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and Lumines proved to be fun games that made a PSP worth buying. However, nothing else has really stood above the crowd and risen to the ranks of incredible game.
LocoRoco comes along to save the day for the PSP, though. At first glance, LocoRoco looks like nothing more than a kiddy game, something that most gamers would not give a second thought to. If you spend any time looking into the game, though, you will realize that it is far more. While it is easy to learn, it presents quite a few fun challenges along the way...

Dead Rising Review FunnyGames, August 14, 2006We finally got one. Finally. Yes, there is now a zombie video game in the stores that lives up to the classic zombie horror flicks. The developers at Capcom insist via a disclaimer on the front of Dead Rising's box that no, legendary horror filmmaker George A. Romero was not a part of this project, nor does this title have anything official to do with his seminal zombie movie Dawn of the Dead. Why even bother? Well, there are some very conspicuous similarities here: zombies in a mall, people getting eaten, that sort of thing. But if this game needs a disclaimer, then don't World of Warcraft developers Blizzard Entertainment need one disclaiming any perceived similarity to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings? Or what about the hundreds of books, shows, movies, and games that borrow from popular culture? ...

...Multiplayer is similarly full-featured, though On Tour only allows for local wireless play. Fans hoping to rock out over Nintendo's WFC will have to wait for the reunion tour. Available multiplayer modes include all of the most recent favorites: face-off, pro face-off (same as face-off, except difficulty levels must be the same for both players), co-op and guitar duel...
...Single player Guitar Duel has a level progression unto itself, a sort of Career mode alternative. Career's band-building storyline is absent here, replaced with a series of face-offs which pit players against NPC opponents. The songs and setlists are all the same across both modes, but Career and Guitar Duel both have to be opened up separately...
