July 4, 2008: FaceBreaker (XboX)Overall, we had a lot of fun with FaceBreaker. The controls are simple and easy to pick up, with each character's personality adding extra appeal to the simplified style of boxing presented in the game. But while it may be simple, we picked up on certain areas where strategy is a must. The most notable area is with FaceBreakers. When you use the first or second tier, you'll drop your FaceBreaker meter back to zero. What that does is knock away a substantial portion of your opponent's health, but you'll, then, need to build it back up all over again for the next special move. This adds a fun risk-reward element to the fighting. You're constantly at odds with your instinct to pummel your opponent as savagely as you can right at that moment, but in the back of your head, you know you can guarantee yourself a victory if you patiently build that FaceBreaker gauge all the way up to the top.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars FunnyGames, February 10, 2006UK developer Splash Damage is a pioneer in multiplayer gaming, even if most of the thousands of online FPS players have never heard of them. These are the guys that developed the multiplayer portion of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, the Activision title that was released for free a few years ago. Activision pulled a wonderful PR move in releasing this as a stand-alone game, and it's been a favorite of many FPS gamers since.
Now, Splash Damage is getting their chance to make their own multiplayer game that's not just intended to be tacked onto something else. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars combines Splash Damage's unique brand of FPS action with the sci-fi world of Quake to make something that's truly unique. The team at Splash Damage is still largely a bunch of modmakers without true retail game experience.

The first details and gameplay footage of Metal Gear Online for the PlayStation 3 were pulled out of the hat today at Konami's Metal Gear 20th Anniversary event in Japan...
...The game will be a kind of hide-and-seek for up to 16 players at a time, and is called a "strategic multiplayer experience." It will feature the SOP system which allows players to keep track of their teammates via nanomachines injected into their bloodstream. The nanomachines allow them to see where the rest of their team are, their condition, which way they are aiming, and their range of sight. Enemy soldiers can also be injected with nanomachines, which will enable the other team to then keep track of their movements...
