Funny News: Super Princess Peach Review
March 11, 2006: Super Princess Peach ReviewI remember the very first video game that I ever played. We were living down in Parris Island, SC in late 1985 and my parents went to the local Service Merchandise and bought me an original NES. They had purchased Super Mario Brothers along with the system. To this day, I still have fond memories of reading the book, thinking a goomba was a 1-up mushroom and running into it three times in a row to a game over.
I never thought that, over 20 years later, I'd still be video gaming like I was then. Just a few days ago, I picked up a platformer from Nintendo, Super Princess Peach. See, after over 20 years, Bowser finally figured out how to capture Mario instead of the Princess. You'd think he would have figured that one out by now, but hey. No big deal, though - Mario and Luigi aren't the only heroes in the Mushroom Kingdom.

Sims 2 bringing home Pets? FunnyGames, May 13, 2006What we heard: The Sims franchise has proved to be a monumental success. The life simulator has been a dominant force on the PC gaming charts since it took the leap from the mind of Maxis Studios head Will Wright onto retail shelves in 2000.
Though Wright wasn't at E3 pimping out some Sims-related gear, Electronic Arts was. Near the area housing Wright's PC game Spore, EA built a 360-degree trailer theater that showed a plethora of games from the publisher, including the lineup from Superman Returns: The Videogame, Battlefield 2142, and Medal of Honor: Airborne.
It wasn't all bullets and fighting, though. Stuck in the middle of the trailer were some cute and cuddly animals--and not the one-eyed freaks of nature of Spore. The familiar cybercitizens of The Sims 2 were shown hanging around in parks and playing with something they haven't been able to since the original The Sims game--pets...

Painkiller: Hell Wars review FunnyGames, August 7, 2006
...The single player game takes you through the best missions from the PC game and the expansion pack, and should take you a healthy amount of time to blow through. There's even some replay value, thanks to secret "Dark Tarot" cards that unlock new powers and upgrades.
As far as mindless FPS games go, Painkiller: Hell Wars isn't a bad pickup. It's only 30 bucks, and for folks that haven't picked up the 360, it's one of the few new FPS games you'll be seeing for some time.
