Cricket Captain 2008 Review
International Stick Cricket Captain 2008 for the PC builds on the changes introduced in last year's version of the game, including the new 3D engine, but ultimately this year's edition is little more than an incremental statistical update. Although these revisions will represent a lot of value to the hardcore statistic fans, the overall experience is still hampered by a slight identity crisis and serves only to cheapen a sport loved by so many...
...One fundamental issue raises its head again in the 2008 edition of ICC. The game straddles the line between giving players the chance to play as stick cricket captain and as a team manager, and the two don't always overlap. The on-field direction of who will bowl and bat, when they'll do it, and how the fieldsmen will be placed is all captain territory. On the other hand, between matches you'll need to manage player training and fitness by spending your allocated number of skill points. ICC '08 has added new coaching options, and whereas previously all you could do was assign generic bowling or batting training to players...

Half-Life 2: Episode 1 Review FunnyGames, June 6, 2006If Duke Nukem Forever can teach us anything, it's that long development times are not always good for a game. The same can be said for the much-vaunted Valve and its ongoing vaporware, Team Fortress 2. It was with this in mind that Valve decided to go in a different direction than anyone else in the industry. Rather than spending three or four years working on 20-hour long epics, they would instead focus on episodic content. The games are shorter, to be sure, but the smaller scope and speedier development times allow them to put out quality titles once every six months, rather than once every few years.
Half Life 2: Episode 1 will set the bar for determining whether folks prefer their gaming ...

Mortal Kombat Armageddon: New details released FunnyGames, July 26, 2006...Midway is bringing current-gen Mortal Kombat to a close with Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, the biggest title in this legendary fighting game series to date. Armageddon promises to be the most complete MK title ever with tons of gameplay, dozens of characters to choose from, and several new features to bring longtime fans of the series back for one final blast through the Outworld...
...Last but not least, the game's producer hinted at a super secret mode akin to the zany puzzle games in previous MK titles. We don't really know what to expect, but we imagine it'll be a simple, pick-up-and-play style as the other mini-games have been. Maybe Gauntlet with Mortal Kombat characters? Damn you Midway, you have us thinking! Keep checking back as Armageddon nears its October release date...
