We finally got one. Finally. Yes, there is now a zombie video game in the stores that lives up to the classic zombie horror flicks. The developers at Capcom insist via a disclaimer on the front of Dead Rising's box that no, legendary horror filmmaker George A. Romero was not a part of this project, nor does this title have anything official to do with his seminal zombie movie Dawn of the Dead. Why even bother? Well, there are some very conspicuous similarities here: zombies in a mall, people getting eaten, that sort of thing. But if this game needs a disclaimer, then don't World of Warcraft developers Blizzard Entertainment need one disclaiming any perceived similarity to J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings? Or what about the hundreds of books, shows, movies, and games that borrow from popular culture? ...

PSP gets greatest game hits FunnyGames, July 26, 2006Sony's Greatest Hits program, where top-selling older game titles are rereleased with new packaging and a budget price tag, was officially introduced to the PlayStation Portable today. Effective immediately, five of Sony's first-party PSP games (Wipeout Pure, Twisted Metal: Head On, Ape Escape: On the Loose, ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails, and Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee) are available for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
While the first wave of game hits is limited to first-party games from around the time of the system's March 2005 launch, Sony has said that third-party games will achieve Greatest Hits status later this year. Specifically, Lumines, Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade, Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, and Star Wars Battlefront II are all due to go easier on gamers' wallets...

MLB 07: The Show (PS3) FunnyGames, May 28, 2007...The new tweaks in the game go from bland to broken to pretty awesome. Pitchers get a new feature with a fancy name adaptive pitching intelligence. What is this space-age George Jetson gadgetry? Suggested pitches. While standing on the mound, the game suggests a pitch to you it's not cumbersome or annoying, but it is not really as interesting as its name.
Also more sparkle than substance is the online game. Sony has considerably beefed up its online offerings, building in league play that can simulate a season with up to thirty online players, and updating rosters through the season. But the actual games themselves are spotty and laggy and that is the death knoll for a game that relies so heavily upon timing...
