Castle Crashers is, by far, the most anticipated Xbox Live Arcade game of the year. It won the Audience Award at this year's Independent Games Festival, it features the work of the guys behind some classic flash games, and it combines the fun of Golden Axe with the graphics of Alien Hominid. Really, what more could you ask for? ...
...While this is all awesome news for fans of the genre, the real draw of Castle Crashers is undoubtedly the art style, which is entirely hand-drawn and smooth as silk. Fans of Alien Hominid (especially on Xbox Live Arcade) will definitely find themselves in familiar territory here, with outlandish violence and bright colors taking up the majority of the palate in CC...

The Club Game Review FunnyGames, February 29, 2008Bizarre Creations' The Club is a bewildering beast of a video game. The core gameplay conceit of tightly focused speed and combo runs through a mixture of gun-toting enemy-filled maps works extremely well in practice. Problem is, nearly everything surrounding what works is astoundingly unimpressive, from the "set up and discard" approach to an otherwise compelling backstory to the game's criminally tacked-on multiplayer. At first, I thought this was just a random adjustment, but it occurred to me that it was heavily related to the control scheme. The new pointer makes it impressively easy to catch zombie after zombie in the face with your crummy little pistol from quite a distance...
